New Year’s resolutions mean you’re serious about getting fit and staying healthy for 2012, right? Earlier this year with checked out some of our favorite free fitness apps, but if you plan to sticking to your goals this next year, we’ve compiled a few new ones and promise to keep it under $2, if not free.
Womens Health Lite
Available for free (to test out) or the full-version for $1.99, this app was designed by Women’s Health Magazine. It includes workouts and exercises that are easy to replicate and perform in your own home (away from a sweaty gym). Complete with a training log and even a timer to keep you on track, this app also has a support function so you can email a Women’s Health fitness expert for any advice.
Men’s Health Workouts Lite
Very similar to the male counterpart, a free version is available with workouts catered to male bodies. The free version includes five free workouts and hundreds in the $1.99 version. You can also set goals and organize your workouts to keep you on track to fulfilling them.
The Snack App
Maybe it’s just us, but have you ever done the kitchen dance? Where you open up the fridge and the cabinets, stare for a few minutes, close them, only to open them again in a few minutes because you just can’t decide what you want? Okay, maybe it’s just us, but The Snack App gives you calorie-based snack choices according the flavor you’re craving – genius!
Lose It!
So after our last list, a reader recommended his favorite fitness app, Lose It! After trying it out we think he’s on to something. With this app you can easily track what you’re putting into your body and set daily calorie goals for yourself. You can also have comprehensive reports sent to your email and share as much or as a little information with your friends as you please.
Healthy Recipes – by SparkRecipes
We have definitely used SparkRecipes before and we’re so happy we found this app! Besides the easy-to-use organization system, the app also provides calorie counts, carbohydrate levels and nutritional information. One of the best parts about this free app are the cooking technique videos to keep the compliments coming!
Special mentions go to 21-Day Vegan Kickstart (in case you’re feeling especially adventurous in 2012) and Fast Food Calories (to keep you honest and maybe a little guilty).
