If you strike up a conversation with someone about yoga studios in Orange County (as I’m sure you so often do, right?), CorePower Yoga will surely come up. And why wouldn’t it? There are four studios (soon to be five) well dispersed throughout the county, they offer loads of awesome classes, the facilities are high end and you WILL see results in your body and your practice.

I walked into the Costa Mesa location and thought to myself, “this is seriously cool, can I hang out here and lounge by the fire, please?”. Yes, there is a fireplace, and yes, it is seriously cool. With an intimate yet chic vibe, you leave the distractions of your day at the door and embrace this modern haven.

Nicolette David, the manager at the Costa Mesa location (you might also recognize this amazing woman from a vibrant ambassador photo up on the wall at the lululemon athletica at South Coast Plaza), describes CorePower as having “a strong sense of community and each CorePower studio is unique.” When asked about her particular studio, “It’s hip, colorful. I love it, it’s like home.” And what a remarkable home, it is.

CorePower’s style of yoga definitely emphasizes power vinyasa, the combination of a more physically demanding practice and the fluid pace of breath to movement. On the schedule you’ll find the option for heated or non-heated classes, several different styles (though there is an overall element of flow to each) and all are taught by fabulous and encouraging instructors.

Why CorePower will rock your socks off:

  • First week free!
  • You get $5 credit every time you refer someone to the studio
  • Heaps of classes per day to fit your schedule
  • Spa-inspired locker rooms with showers. It was tough to leave.
  • Great workshops/events to keep your body from hitting a plateau such as bootcamps, wellness events, etc.
  • Ready to expand your horizons? Teacher’s training is offered three times a year.
  • Lost your pants? There’s a huge retail selection to choose from.
  • The Irvine location has added indoor cycling bikes to their studio so you can get your cardio on, too.
  • They get involved in the community with Karma Yoga Projects (check out their website for more info!)
